<p>how much weight do you think columbia will put on the sat essay score? have they made any official statements on it?</p>

<p>if someone gets a 99 percentile critical reading score, 750+ writing multiple choice subscore, does well on the sat 2 literature, gets a 5 in ap english, and has a rec from their english teacher that mentions their strong in-class essays, will columbia really mind an <em>atrocious</em> sat essay score (like a 6 out of 12)? and assume good college essays too</p>

<p>also assume that the person still has a 700+ for the writing section thanks to the mc subscore, so the entire score is not the problem, just the low essay score.</p>

<p>Adcoms don't put make-or-break weight on any single one of the SAT I/II sections, especially if it's a 700+. So I couldn't imagine them doing anything except ignoring the essay subscore of one little writing test. Anyone who worries about this happening to them might want to relax a bit.</p>
