Ok, this is really bugging me, but does anyone know how to score your essay on the New SAT? I haven't a clue what my score means or if its even good.

What was your score? (PM me if you don't want to post it.)

The scores range from 0 to 12. The score is the sum of two readers' scores based on a 0-6 scale. a 10, 11 or 12 is pretty darned good. Below an 8 can hurt you.

If you have a practice essay that you want scored, post it here and you'll get lots of comments.

Hope that helps.

Hey Pete what do you need to write a 12!!!!!! ive gotten 10's and i dont understand what you need to write a 12, any advice?

sorry but this is kinda relevant -

How do they put together the writing score? >8|

one person grades it and gives it a grade on the scale from 1-6...then someone else grades it on the same scale, and then they combine them...........or so ive heard

True, but the scores must be matching or adjacent. So an 8 essay can pass as a 4/4 but not a 3/5. And a 11 would pass as a 6/5.

yeh forgot bout that...if its a 3/5 they regrade it
