hi all..
i wud really appreciate it if someone cud give me like a format for the SAT essay as in how many paragraphs and all.
also how many words is the essay supposed to be... i knw ther isnt a world -limit but roughly how many words..

i would also like it if somebody cud give me sum sample SAT essay topics

well, i've heard that it is good to make your essay pretty long, just don't drag it out if you don't have anything good to say and keep track of time. definitely have an intro and conclusion, then maybe 2-3 body paragraphs. Have many examples.
One essay I had to write was a response to whether or not we felt majority rule was correct.
I have a question to, and that is, are we allowed to make an outline in the space given, or do we just have to immediatly start writing?

I'd suggest starting to write immediately. It took my every one of the 25 minutes to fill the two pages of space... and I didn't stop writing. Outlining is not in your best interest if you want to fill all pages.

The essay requires no standard format; it's all up to you. But I do suggest that you include an intro and conclusion, with as many examples as you can think of. Remember, examples are the most important. The more, the better. You can view previous essay topics on the College Board website (collegeboard.com).

unless your a great writer and can think about what you will write very quickly all in your head..... a small basic outline is a pretty good idea.... you dont need much just what you plan to write about ....and like what examples you will use.....

personally...i made a quick 2 minute outline and thought about what to write about and then wrote my conclusion becasue my conclusions are really bad when im rushed but thats just me

I know that a month before the SAT my junior english teacher would just have us come into the class and write an essay in twenty five minutes (it was of course topics he had gotten out of SAT practice books). This really helps you get comfortable with the time restraints and also with developing your ideas quickly. Since I did not take the SAT i don't really know how it would have affected my writing score but I did take the ACT not long after and I got a near perfect on that essay. I think that in order to be ready just write one essay every day in 25 minutes.

personally i think writing an essay should definitely include an intro and conclusion... in my GCSE eng lit essays we use 5 paragraphs, 3 paragraphs as the main content. e.g. if the essay was one sumthin describing 2 issues u can do a paragraph on each issue, then a paragraph mentioning the similarities and differences between them.

it reli depends on what the topic is tho... sometimes it's difficult to divide the main content into 5 sections, especially when time is limited to 25 mins. i suggest to draw a spider diagram as outline using around 3 minutes and start writing. planning's always good for u unless u got it all planned out in ur head in advance.

hey all..
my friend joined a kaplan course where he was told to spend about 2-3 minutes on an outline basically just planning his examples and his stand on the issue...
and yup even one well explanied example can get u a 6 while 4 poorly explained examples will only get u a 2 or a 3
