Hi guys I was wondering if it matters where your examples come from like if I used an example from a tv show and one from my life does that hurt my score rather than using an example from history?

I think it matters a bit more on how you develop/relate the example. It could be a weak topic but still have a strong connection to the question. A strong history connection is hard to come by and are thus favored by writers/readers. Overall, you should find out tomorrow just how good your examples fared =]

What matters is not such much what examples you use but how you use them. However, it is true that examples from literature and history generally come across as more sophisticated and intelligent.

It is recommended to not use first or second person in your essay, eliminating anecdotes - it may say “Use personal examples” but a strong historical example or literature example does better. However, depending on how you relate and connect anecdotes if you used one - it may score well.
