rank 10/6XX
gpa: 4.55/4.6

extracurric's:
too many to list (community service, 2 sports, student government, leadership positions in three organizations, three insturments, three languages, academic clubs etc..)

awards:
many academic (biology, chemistry, physics), service, and leadership awards. congressional medals (bronze, silver, and gold), awards from my church

more but i dont feel like listing

recommendations:
I think they will be good because both teachers asked me if they could write them because they thought I was one of their best students in many years.

I have a really high gpa 4.55/4.6 and with this semester's grades it will be even higher bc I have straight A's in 6 ap classes. (I think like a 4.59/4.6)

Most people say high gpa w/ low sats shows grade inflation in an easy school, but my hs is ranked in the top 100 schools in the nation. There aren't many people who have taken all honors/ap throughout hs, and even less who do so w/ all a's (im ranked in the top 1%, and it should jump after this semester).

Do you think my grades will make up for my low scores for cornell

I think with the increase in applicants, they might see my mere 1920 and laugh. With my scores I dont think I have any chance!!

have you taken the ACT? Some kids just do MUCH better on that type of test. Your SAT scores are ok, and being an african american female may help alot.

but you may want to check out the ACT exam.

Have you already applied? Which college have you applied to? Which major?

Lucky for you Cornell doesn't care about the writing section. You have a 1320 and are in the top 2 percent of your class. I think you have an extremely strong shot.

I had 530 in Writing (1340 CR+M) and was accepted. You have a very good chance.

Im planning on majoring in chemistry or physics, thats why I think my math is too low
yea I in mid sept

playhacker you give me hope, are u a minority also what is ur intended major

Your grades combined with your minority status will most likely override your SAT scores - unless your extracurriculars and general "persona" don't fit the school/major you're applying to all at all (if you applied to a school like CALS, where fit is a HUGE factor in admissions. If you applied to CAS, fit won't matter much). But again, a African American with sky-high grades and decent extracurriculars is bound to be scrabbled over by top colleges.

urm + good grades/intense rigor will override your scores. You have an ok chance.

thanx 10 char
