So after taking the test (of course), i realized that i filled in part of the test with a #2.5 pencil rather than the traditional #2 pencil; Some people tell me that the CB machines won't pick up 2.5, only #2 so my scores could me messed up. What makes it worse is that I jumped around with my pencil usuage, I used a #2 pencil for some sections and #2.5 for other sections, and only noticed after the test that one of the two pencils I was using was a #2.5. Did anyone else have this problem? What do you suggest? I called CB, they basically told me to wait until i get my scores :/

2.5 should be fine.

As long as it is visibly darker than the rest of the page. As in, it’s clear that it’s been marked. I’m not too clear on how much harder the graphite is, though, because I use #1 pencils (which are very soft and dark).

I’m sure you’ll be fine, though. Plenty of people will have used light-ish pencils.

if there is a problem you could ask for a rescore so that a real person will check your answers

When I took October SAT, I only had a 2.5 pencil with me so I used it. Nothing particular happened, I got my scores.
I think 2.5 are slightly lighter but it’s not a problem you shouldn’t worry.

Thanks a lot guys, your input helped a lot. I was only a little concerned because, as I mentioned, I filled some sections with #2.5 and some with #2, so I don’t want the machine to pick up only the #2 answers, if it did I’d probably end up with like 1200/2400. lol. But thanks, depending on how the scores turn out, I might consider rescore, although its $50.
