Does anyone know whether Brown requires the New SAT for sure or whether they would accept the old one???

Im sorry if this question has already been answered, but i jsut recently decided to apply to brown and really don’t want to take the NEW sat if i don’t HAVE TO.

Brown requires the new SAT, it specifically asks for scores from the new test on the application. Whether it will take the old scores into consideration during the admissions process...i have no idea lol

Yup, just the new SAT only. I just attended their info session today and the admissions officer said that they won't even consider the old SAT or the SAT II Writing test.

so if we have SAT scores from the old SAT which are better on one section (verbal), is it even worth putting that down on the application? there is little enough room as it is...i could use that extra space for another SAT II or ACT if they won't even look at the old SAT

Maybe you should think about retaking. I'm gonna retake the SAT in November (have to rush the score to them since I'm applying ED) and I'm hoping that they will be higher than the one I have now!

Hm, how many times have you taken it? I've only taken the old SAT once and the new SAT once, so I know taking them one more time's not gonna kill me (I hope haha). If you think having a higher SAT score may improve your chances, you should retake! If not, then just focus on strengthening other aspects of your app (like ECs, essays, keeping senior grades up, etc).

hey guys i took ACT today for the first time and i believe my reading score for that is much higher than my 620 CR for SAT I. Problem is im not sure if my ACT math will be as high as my 750 SAT I math. Will they look at both if i send both or wil they only take the highest individual test (either only SAT OR ACT)..Also, how do privates and UCs (im from CA) view science if i screwed up on that? will UCs ignore science since i will submit my 2 SAT IIs (750 average). how bout private schools? im really confused! help!!!

Blissfullie: I was wondering that too! I'm taking two SAT II's in October (I've only taken one SAT II so far) and I didn't know whether or not to just wait till the end of October when I'd get the scores back to put them on the application or if I should just leave those spaces blank. Same with the SAT in November.

When do they even start reviewing applications? Is it like right after the deadline or do they wait till late November? Cause if they do wait, then I don't think it'll really matter if we don't put any scores considering that they will be available for them by the time they start reviewing...
