SAT grammar book suggestions?

any good suggestions for books on grammar? essay discussion should be very little and limited in the book you're about to suggest.

Also, NO BARRON BOOKS<=== I'm tired of finding more of their grammar books to be garbage. I haven't tried princeton review products or others, got anything to suggest? thanks!!

I’d recommend The Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar by Erica L. Meltzer.

don’t try to learn grammar for the SAT, it’s a waste of time. Just read this: [Top 10 Grammar Rules to Beat the SAT | Grockit SAT ACT Test Prep](<a href=“Kaplan Test Prep”>Kaplan Test Prep), and then practice a lot of writing sections from real SATs. Just by practicing, and going over what you got wrong, you can increase your score massively. I went from a 620 (10 MC wrong with a 10 essay), to an 800 (perfect multiple choice with a 12 essay), with only 3 weeks of practice.

ok, thanks satanman, i’ve heard a lot of posts like that. I should start to learn grammar and have a firm understanding with good grammar terms. and i should also just try to get the “jist” of what the errors are like. In some cases, using your ear for language can save you a lot even if you don’t know how to categorize the funny sounding part of the problem you identify.

I second the Ultimate Guide by Meltzer. It’s a relatively quick and easy read, and it is unparalled in its effectiveness. You should easily score 47+ raw on Writing MC if you use this book.

grammar bible

@philovitist, what? your joke’s not funny… trying to find some real help right now

Sigh.

[The Grammar Bible: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Grammar but Didn’t Know Whom to Ask: Michael Strumpf, Auriel Douglas: 9780805075601: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/The-Grammar-Bible-Everything-Always/dp/0805075607)

This is a very fantastic book. Check out the reviews. It’s comprehensive enough for the SAT but is written in a casual, readable way; I was able to digest it over two days from front to back without any struggle.

okay thanks Philovitist, lol, i thought you were joking with me at first. bible… LOL
