Alright guys, I’m currently in my junior year now, and I’m getting ready for the SAT. I’m planning on taking the one on March 9th, and I havent started studying yet. I want to sign up for an SAT prep course, pereferrably one where I can have a tutor/teacher who can walk me through some things. I think my biggest weakness right now is reading comprehesion/writing. It’s a bit hard to calculate how well i’ve done on the PSAT, since I only took it freshmen year(scored something like 860). If you guys can recommend a good SAT prep course($400 or less), that’d be so helpful. Thanks!
Kahn Academy - and you can’t beat the price.
Agreed. Group classes are not the best use of time for most students, and it’s hard to find a worthwhile class for $400 or less. You are best off buying the Official SAT Guide (published by the College Board), and do the practice tests one section at a time, strictly timed, using No. 2 pencil and the bubble sheets. Go over your errors thoroughly and review all concepts you are weak on, using Khan Academy. Also strongly recommend purchasing and working through PWN the SAT Math by Mike McClenathan and the Guide to SAT Grammar (NOT the Workbook) by Erica Meltzer. All 3 books will together cost about $70 or so from amazon.com. They are the “best” for math and grammar/writing.
