So im in a little bit of trouble right now. Here are my SAT stats first:

SAT II:
760 bio
800 chem
710 USH

SAT I (superscored):
680 CR
760 Math
710 Writing
=2150 overall

My school of choice is JHU, which i will ED to, in order to improve my chances. I was planning on retaking the USH and taking Math II in one sitting and then taking the SAT I (for a 4th time) at another. Today i checked the jhu site and found out that standerized tests must be completed by october, as deadline for apps is nov 1st. Should i take the subject tests or the SAT I?? i really dont know

I’m in a similar yet worse predicament. I would be fine with a 710 USH, but I also have a 2150. I have to retake a couple of my subject tests in time for ED, too.

Right now, my plan is to retake SAT I in October and the subject tests in November. My top choice will have to see two of my subject scores (one of which is just fine, the other is kind of bad but good enough for consideration), but I’m submitting my November scores to them, too, just in case they get it and see my improvement. Its website says they “strongly urge” to have everything completed by October, but that they “might” get November scores in time for ED. If you retake USH and take math II in November, send them to JHU anyway in addition to the scores you have now. They might get them in time, and if they don’t, they’ll have your current scores.

My top choice can replace SAT I & II with ACT, so I MIGHT take ACT (would you, if JHU didn’t require subject tests even with ACT?), but I’m sorry JHU doesn’t. :/

Honestly, I think a 710 in USH is fine… I don’t know the averages or your percentile, but 700+ is fine, and your chemistry score is very impressive. If I were you, I would focus more on just retaking SAT I.

I’m applying JHU, too, RD though. Good luck!

JHU doesn’t replace SAT I and II with ACT, so even if you did take ACT, you would still have to submit subject test scores.
I don’t think you’re required to send your ACT score… You just pick ACT or SAT.

JHU says on their website that they want all of your SAT scores, but it seems ambiguous to me. I’m sure they’d want multiple ACT scores, if you take it more than once, too, but yeah…

Again, if I were you, I’d be just fine with my SAT II scores and focus on improving SAT I. You have 3 700+s, one 800 in chem (again, really impressive) to submit to a top 20 school… I think you’ll be fine. Focus on learning vocabulary for CR, learn to BS the essay for writing and grammar stuff. And practice. :)

I know but i meant if that i did well on the ACT like a 34-36, it might cover up my SAT score. I would still submit both, but the extra ACT score can only benefit me right? I looked at [College Search - Johns Hopkins University - Hopkins - SAT®, AP®, CLEP®](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board) and shows this policy:

"SAT score-use policy:

* Highest Section Scores Across Test Dates"

I think if you got a 34-36 on the ACT, you would be best off submitting ACT & subject tests. There’s no benefit in submitting SAT I if your ACT equivalent is higher.

ok so im thinking that ill sign up for the sept ACT, oct SAT I, and nov SAT II (Math 2 and USH). if i think i did well on the ACT, i will cancel the oct SAT I and replace with SAT II. Collegeboard is gay and set the late registration date the day b4 ACT
