SAT I + ACT w/ Writing in lieu of SAT II's?

Okay, so I'm a QB (QuestBridge) non-finalist applying to Rice RD and I just looked on their QB supplement I'm supposed to complete and they require two SAT II's. However, I've seen it before that taking the ACT in addition to SAT I is acceptable instead of taking subject tests.

I really don't have time to take the subject tests now, as Dec 1st was the last acceptable date sooo...

Will they take the ACT instead? Thanks.

Check the Rice website to see. Most schools seem to be taking the ACT in lieu of SAT IIs but not all.

There is no school that says sending both SAT and ACT does away with SAT IIs. There are a number that usually require IIs which will accept the ACT in lieu of both the SAT and SAT IIs. However, Rice is not one of those. It requires the IIs regardless of whether you submit SAT or ACT. Go here for a list of schools that require IIs. An * next to the number required in the required column means the school takes the ACT in lieu of both the SAT and SAT IIs. The ones without an * in that column require IIs even if you submit ACT: Compass: Admissions Requirements .

Darn. No Rice for me, I guess.
