ACT: 35 Once during sophomore year.
SAT I:2240 (Writing 680) Once during sophomore year.
SAT II: 800-800-790 Junior year.

I am not obsessed with scores. I thought I was done but I am worried since most of my competitors took SAT I 2-3 times to get over 2300.

I am applying to some very selective schools. Will it be better for me to take it one more time to get over 2300? I am a very worried senior so don't be mean with your comment.

I’d take the SAT one more time–not with the idea of surpassing a 2300 score, but to get that writing score into the mid 700s. The 680 doesn’t seem to fit with your other scores.

I am really concerned becuase some schools reject score choice (need to send them all).
What will happen? Will they disregard SAT I score if I send both ACT and SAT I.
Will 680 on writing portion hurt me?

If your ACT was ACT with writing, take a deep breath and consider this part of your application excellent and DONE. Send your ACT and SAT2s. Some schools want ALL tests taken, in which case you would need to report your SAT scores as well. They will not hurt your admissions. If you had these scores and had tested 9 times, it might not look as promising. You are not a testing-hound simply trying to get better scores. Leave it alone and move on to your essays and other elements of your application.

Congratulations and the very best of luck to you! :)

the 35 on the act is very good. =)
and also note that there are certain colleges that don’t look at the writing score that are pretty darn good (cornell and uchicago)

sadly, i did well on writing and those are the two schools i’m applying early. how ironic. maybe you should have him apply to them if you’re scared about his writing score

but really, just send his act unless the school doesn’t do score choice, in which case they’ll probably just look at his act.

i don’t think this is bragging haha. maybe if this was over whether a 2350 will get him rejected from a community college. those scores aren’t especially rare at my school =) now i’m bragging

If I were your mother I’d advise to be done with the testing. Get your apps done. Enjoy your senior year. Make sure you have a solid list with a safety or two (financial and admit) and finish up your senior year the best you can. Stop listening to negative competitive kid chit chat and don’t participate in all of that it will only sap your emotional strength.

According to both the College Board and ACT your 35 ACT composite is the equivalent of a score of 800 per section, or 2400 for all three sections of the SAT I.

Don’t waste your time and money retaking the SAT.
