Merry Christmas to everyone! I just sent my application and paid my fees yesterday for Columbia and Princeton. Today I received the Princeton notification email so I registered for the Application Tracking System, and I was shocked to see that neither of my SATs Official Reports had been received. I took the SAT I on November and the SAT II on December. I already checked in my Send Score History and it indicates that my SAT I score was sent on two dates: November 21st and December 19th (same date my Subject Tests reports were sent). Has this happened to anyone else? Maybe is it because I am an international and the process takes longer? Or should I contact College Board directly? I am freaking out because I am too close to the deadline!

Hi fiorepala, I think this is normal. I took the SAT in November and had my scores directly sent so when I turned in my application, they already have everything. The December SAT just happened and the scores just got sent. I would give them a few weeks time to show up. From previous experiences for colleges with November deadlines, they said that I had to turn in my application before their deadline in order for them to review it. Recs and scores should be sent immediately but they give them a few weeks time to show up and process. Also, I think this could just be a processing time thing which is why they are not showing up. The day I submitted my app to Princeton, they sent me a tracking thing and it said that my supplement and teacher recs were missing. Well, I knew I had sent those and it indicated on my CommonApp. I checked again after a few days and they had received those items (or downloaded them by that time).

Thanks a lot referee! I am feeling calmer right now. I guess it is just a matter of time…

I’m really worried about SAT scores as well. I won’t be able to send any until next Friday (Dec 31st) because of our finances. Should I include this on the CommonApp or something? We don’t qualify for a fee waiver with ACT/SAT so I’m hoping the scores won’t arrive too late!

Well, if the scores arrive a few days after the deadline, I don’t think it would be a big deal. I mean you’re already self-reporting scores on the CommonApp so it’s not like the Admissions Officers have nothing to work with. I would call and check just to be double sure, but I don’t think scores arriving after the deadline is a big deal. Use the priority thing if it’s really necessary. And sorry for bad grammar in this post and the previous one!

Yeah I agree with referee. Princeton accepts scores from the January date, which probably will arrive on mid February, so I guess yours will arrive with plenty of time. But you should include it in your Common App, just in case. I am retaking my SAT I on January and specified that in the Additional Information section so that the officers have that in mind.

So many of the same questions asked multiple times…

Unless the official score reports arrive REALLY LATE in the process, colleges just don’t care when they arrive. And it is quite common for there to be errors and stuff so they sometimes ask you to resend the reports in, say, January and February.
