graybeard:youth

anyone remember the answers?

Are you sure that the Eastern immigrant was "not concerned with material possession"? I put down that the parents "based their desires on reality" or something along the lines of that. Because the passage specifically mentioned something about them accepting the hand that life had dealt them, etc. I think what the author was trying to say was that taking into account the incredible hardship her parents had endured, what they have right now can be considered luxuries. Therefore, they adjusted their desires based on reality.

I also got fawning: accomadating, sew:tear, etc on the analogies.
For the sentence completion about the antiseptic and the doctor...are you SURE it's sterilize? I put down sterilize but i wasn't sure. Why would they put quotation marks around "new"? I was stuck on that for awhile.

BTW, i'm also from toronto...did u guys take it at UT and had to change buildings???

greenhorn:experience.

In da Vinci passage what were the answers for:
a question that had to do with scientific method

da Vinci was "awakened" ?

the passage had to do with da Vinci's originiality in thinking

the passage about immigrant girl,
what was that one about the pharmacist and "professor?"

i put "awakened" meant he was ahead of his time...that was basically what the passage was trying to say. That although the scientific method is usually attributed to the Scientific Rev, da Vinci actually used it long long ago.

i can't remem what they question was about the pharmacist and prof...can u post it and the answer choices. maybe then i'll remember.

what were the answer choices for the graybeard: youth one? I didn't get greenhorn, even though now i see that it's the right answer.

btbvector, the link u gave as regards to June sat..not nov..

cncm ,
do u rem other choices for the da vinci "ahead of this time"? i dont rem if i put that. but is that the whole answer?

for the graybeard:youth , i dont remember. but i didnt put the right answer either. sorry.

arXael: it has been found out that June American SAT is identical to International November one.

For Graybeard:Youth, the answer is Greenhorn:Experience.

sorry, i can't remember the other choices for the "ahead of time" question. However, I'm 99.9% sure it's the right...i used POE when i double-checked.

can someone please reply regarding the Eastern Immigrant passage...the second to last Q, was it "valued hardwork" or was it "adjusted desire according to reality". Also, was the tone of the passage "thoughtful"? That's what i put...just want to confirm.

What are some of the other hard/tricky questions...i want to compare answers...

i remember that i put thoughtful..
do u rememebr any analogy answers?

there was a questiion for analogy with tile :: something :
arg. i dont recall the question. but do you remember what you put for that? i remember i put a.

i think it was tile:mosaic and i put piece:puzzle or something like that

o yeah. it is tile mosaic.. you sure piece puzzle is the right answer? i didn't put that. :(

I'm not sure actually:( i dont remember the other options

the test that i took today had 4 math sections, and 3 verbals.i read that 1 of the math sections dont count, so that there would be 60 questions. anyway, on the grid in section i gridded the answer but i think i forgot to bubble in the digits. so right there i omitted like 10 questions and didnt know. plus 10 more questions i didnt get to, plus about 3 or 4 i got wrong. Being that i answered all 4 sections of math. What do you think my raw score is?

The math was so trickyyy, did anyone get (E) for the question asking about the no of integers below and like they also said something about consecutive integers? there was one crazy math question which took me AGES to figure out the trick, it was in the comparitive section. It asked if the circumference of the circle or 10 pi was bigger, and i put 10 pi.

I took the same order SAT as the ones all of you took yesterday.I did not have any impression about the number of questions on the first math section: someone told me there was totally... 26 questions but I can't remember.I'm very worried about whether I had some stupid mistakes tranfering the answers to my answer sheet or not!!!
The Math sections were not very tough so I can't stand if it did happened

I'm quite sure that Tile:Mosaic::Piece:Puzzle because just a mosaic is an assortment of tiles, a puzzle is an assortment of pieces. And about the math, I think I got around 4 or 5 wrong as well. I think that the score will be around 690-720. The math scale for internationals is tougher for some reason. Or at least, that is what I've observed, and the verbal score is more lenient. For instance, on the May 04 SAT, a 66/78 was a 700.

And as for other questions, I remember one of that for the last passage, I put that the kid's parents "tried to rationalize their situation" -- that was their dismissive nature. I also put "thoughtful". I can't really remember any more from the last passage, but the one about the Japanese poetry had a comparison between stanzas or something, and the answer for that was "incoherent .. something something". And for the question that asked which statement would most directly contridict the author's view point, I put "if she couldn't understand it, that doesn't mean that others couldn't". And for the one SC with the doctor's "new" method, I put the answer with steril... not sure if that's correct because of the quotation usage.
