boomer01,

wow you are a saint. how did u manage that? that's incredible! not only is it very helpfuly, just your memory is shocking. :P

i just have a few questions i hope you could clarify

i dont recall the questions for these and what are some of the other answers if you remember?

IMMIGRANT SOCIETY
7.5) Parents' comments about the rug - Answer: realized pain of rich
i think i put something like practicality and poor or something.
7.11) Answer: Parents were rationalizing situation
i forgot this one. what was the question? and some other answers?

i dont seem to remember most of the da vinci one. darn
LEONARDO DA VINCI

4.31) misinterpretations - Answer: influences from ancients. was there an answer of something like he was first one to discover something?
4.32) stepsons - Answer: contemporaries believed in ancient and modern sciences
i think i said they cant apprehend nature directly?
4.34) Last paragraph implication - Answer: Scientific method earlier than known
forgot what i put, could you elaborate on this one?
4.35) Answer: da Vinci ahead of his time
fogot this one as well.

I agree with 'thatsme' -- on parents' comments about the rug, I put something with practicality and poverty as well. And for the 'stepsons' thing, I also put what you put -- cannot apprehend nature directly. And on the last paragraph implication question, I think it asked the following: What does the information given in the last paragraph imply about the information given in the first paragraph? And, I also put what you put -- Scientific method was used earlier than known. Oh, and the misinterpertations question, I don't remember at all. Could someone please post the question and the answer they put?

Oh, and the question about what is the meaning of "literally" in the last passage, wasn't there an answer that talked about actual appearance and something else... I know that I'm not phrasing the answer correctly, so, does anyone remember the answer choices for that question?

And Boomer, I must also commend you on compiling that list of answers! And Jesus Christ, man! How awesome is your memory!?!?

actually its just that he found it so easy that he had spare time to go through the ques again and mug it up:)

for the sentence completion about the prodigy girl, i put she was a dupe. "sham" usually refers to objects. Anyways...that's what i thought.

For the da Vinci passage about "stepson", I also put that the contemporaries couldn't comprehend nature directly - ie. they rely on what ancient philosophers say and do not do direct experimentations, etc.

For the immigrant passage...the second to last question...can someone PLEASE confirm this. It asked why the parents were satisfied with what they have. Is it B) because they valued hardwork more than material possession or D) they adjusted their desires to reality. PLEASE I need to know...i put B initially but changed it to D since it doesn't actually state that they don't value material possession...just that compared to their initial poverty, etc, what they have right now is really good (ie adjusting desire to reality). Also, what was the question about the parent realizing the pain of the rich??? I know i got something else...what are the other answer choices.

Thanks.

sorry...just realized my mistake. It is "sham" and not "dupe"...i had thought "dupe" meant a swindler. oops...damn!

Also...do u guys know which is the experimental section? Mine was definitely a verbal...but which one?

"boomer01,

wow you are a saint. how did u manage that? that's incredible! not only is it very helpfuly, just your memory is shocking. :P"

It has been cut/pasted from the old CC forums. :D

for the answers you guys put down, do they also include the one from the exp section? sec 3. with the long reading passage of 35 questions in 30 mins

yes, people I am not a genius or anything like that. I just got the answers from the old CC boards. Nevertheless, vebal wasn't that bad this time. I think I got over 700 which is pretty good for a international. I think I made some careless errors on math. Do you guys know the answer for the battery pack and the symbol question like y = 1/x or something like that from the math section? Anyone have ideas about the curve? and which section didn't count. I had two verbal sections in a row. The first one had the short passages with Da vinci and the second one was regular.

How long does it take for them to get the score online for CANADIAN ppl?

the second one was exp. what was the passage about do u recall? for the second verbal?

They get the score online the same time for everyone. Unless they have trouble scoring and it gets delayed, which is not that common. I just hope the October experience on the CB website won't be repeated.

19th November. We shall see.

All right, at the end of the first math section, there was a triangle for which you had to solve for the side AC. I remember that the height of the triangle was 8 root(3), but that's all. Does anyone remember the answer to that? I remember putting 24, but one of my friends put 32. Could someone please confirm which is the correct one? Also, there was a quant. comp. problem that asked which is greater m or -m if 1/m<0 ... I remember putting -m, but could someone confirm that one as well? Thanks a lot.

I put 32 on the triangle, -m (B) on the Quantitative.

I can't confirm for ya though, my memory is fuzzy on the triangle. But I'm pretty sure the QC was -m.

-m is right, and the June thread says 32, I don't remember that one either.

This accountant SC which is supposed to be discomfiture. I don't recall anything like that!! Discomfiture? Accountant? Anybody remember what the setence was like?

That was the sentence where she she was angry or something, because she did something incorrectly, and she is usually a very good secretary.
