SAT I - international version

Oh I didn't see your message when I posted hello. I got pretty excited about the June bit. Anyway, thanks for the curve!!

pilferer : filtch :: swindler: mdefraud...thankfully :)

Well if we have got the same one as the Americans in June....I am afraid that De Vinci one was not experimental....
Maybe i shouldnt have read it......
or may be it was experimental

i found 2 posts
one says
my sections were
Math-25 question
Verbal-3 paragraphs and da Vinci
Math-quant comp
Math-Quant Comp
Verbal-cowboys
Verbal-girl with immigrant parents
Math-10 questions

while other says

math
verbal had 2 passages about cowboys
math
verbal had a bunch of very short passages with few questions on each and no analogies only like 7 or 8 sent. completions
verbal-had a passage on leo da vinci
math
verbal -immigrant girl childhood story about the bronx

if the first one right then no chance of crossing 700 otherwise i need to be really lucky....

pighead: resolute alas i put long-winded....
Any estimations about your rawscores...?

In math a question got the angle 120...the pendulum one
One QQ with (1/2)^x and (1/2)^2x was obviously (A)
Vignitte:Brevity = Farce:Absurdity -cool!

ARE U GUYS SURE THAT THE ONES U POSTED DO NOT INCLUDE THE EXP SEC??? cuz it doesn't count...

me thinks I've yet screwed up another test

yes, people I am not a genius or anything like that. I just got the answers from the old CC boards. Nevertheless, vebal wasn't that bad this time. I think I got over 700 which is pretty good for a international. I think I made some careless errors on math. Do you guys know the answer for the battery pack and the symbol question like y = 1/x or something like that from the math section? Anyone have ideas about the curve? and which section didn't count. I had two verbal sections in a row. The first one had the short passages with Da vinci and the second one was regular.

The battery pack question, it was 5 combos (10 and 2, all 2's, one 4 and two 2's, two 4's and one 2, all 4's)

I can't remember the symbol question but I think it was just a variable and not a 1/something

I think I might have got the "literally" question wrong. What are your ideas on that one? I put it was to emphasize the beauty of the location.

I might have also got the second question on the immigrant passage, about why the settlement workers recommended plain furniture. I put something about the geography of the people. Which is probably wrong..?

The curve... hello seems to have got the June verbal curve right

For math this thread <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=6248%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=6248</a>
(800 780 750 ...) sucks

I think I only have the cube question wrong. It'd be pretty cool to get 780 :-/

the short passages are definitely Experimental,

actually i dont mind (coz i did way better on section 2, or ...hmm.. maybe thats coz no one posted any ans for that section :))

Hey Astrix do you think 600 V will suffice for admissions, or should i just prepare for AIEEE and other Entrance examinations?? Coz i think its way too low for compeitive colleges!!

hello... hope for the best on this one!! And as they say, you never know until you give it a shot.

You seem to be inclined towards engineering so you should definitely work for entrance examinations. Kind of like a backup. As it is, by the time these examinations roll by we'll know how we stand as regards our admissions decisions.

I personally don't think I have the aptitude for engg. so I'm not that keen on it. <stuff about="" how="" astrix="" hates="" chem=""> But I guess if it comes to that, I'll end up doing CS engg. from some obscure college out here. :-/ I'd actually prefer Econ but the cutoffs are insane!! Gotta study CBSE. </stuff>

US would be just... so... perfect. So much flexibility.

What's up at your school? Class 12th got suspended at my school for 2 days + Diwali + Id, so now I go to school next Tuesday :)

And I'm not too sure about Section 2 being experimental anymore! I mean, these people got it in June. They didn't go into raptures about no short passages and how that's gotta mean experimental. Some of them had those short ones with a math experimental. So the experimental could actually be Section 3.

I don't mind either, but this could screw up things for people who misjudged.

And anybody remember an accountant sentence that is supposed to have discomfiture as the answer? Coz I sure don't

Ah... guy here <a href="http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?69/72437%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?69/72437</a> had the GRAYBEARD:YOUTH analogies. The other June test takers didn't get it. Was this our section 3? And do you think collegeboard would repeat experimental's like that. Or maybe their experimental, our's for real

Anyway, seems we'll soon find out, coz the link is already there on the CB site.

i have holidays for 3 weeks, the ruler of UAE died last week!!!!!

"I don't mind either, but this could screw up things for people who misjudged." heh heh
SCREWED i was 100% sure that was experimental. Holy crap. i think its gonna be a sub 600V this time.

May god bless me :) .... ok ok u guys too

1 wrong is 780?

no!!
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=6753%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=6753</a> (^ u started the thread :))

I think the Verbal curve is like this:
800
800
790
770
760
740
730
710
700
.............

Bad news....Section 3 (genders one) Confirmed to be experimental.

All the best to everyone!

crap!!!!!!!!

Ya know... I'm glad. Gender passage had weird questions. Prolly would have gotten a few wrong.

As things stand now - I know for sure I got 1 gridin wrong, and probably 2 wrong on the immigrant passage. That's it. Yeah! But my scores never reflect my estimates. Let's see how far off the mark I am. And if I break 1500......... mannnnnn

In which section was the resolute:pigheaded one?

Was section 3 the one with loads of Analogies?? (like around 10-13)

All the best everyone, we should all focus on the midyears....and work in the spare time on essays...or i am afraid we will go on speculating...
Well astrix, i am sure you will be able to make it!

while everyone else....keep praying for everyone!
