Hi. I wanted to know how strict is the SAT I Math curve, from your expierience. Like, post your math scores, and type how you thought you did when you left, and how many you think you got wrong. Thanks!!

2 wrong/1 omit = 770 for me.
I felt horrible about the Math section when I left because I knew I stupidly answered at least 1 question incorrectly, just because I forgot/never learned what "origin symmetry" was, and left another blank.
My Math section was very difficult for SAT standards, so that is why I still got a 770.

I got a 760M on the March SAT.

I missed 2 and omitted none.

This was a harsh curve as the section was easier than others (i.e. May and June). One thing I know for sure: the math section is a little more difficult on the new SAT than the old SAT, yet on most of the old SATs one could miss a question and still get an 800. This was not the case on the March new SAT.
And colleges say the new and old sections are "comparable".

Oh well, good thing I took the old one and got a 780M. (Should've been 800)

The score would have been better if you had omitted them, wouldn't it?

WEll, all the more reason for me to get 800 on verbal.

No, if I had ommitted 2 and answered none incorrectly I still would have gotten a 760. The half a point I lost for answering 2 wrong would leave me with a 57.5 for example, which rounds up to 58.

Good luck on that 800V burnsk8er. At least you have some room for error with the good verbal curve.

One wrong. 780 math. Knew exactly which one I might have messed up as soon as I finished the section. Knew I got it wrong as soon as I went on CC.

2 wrong 0 omit 760

ITS ALL COMPARATIVE TO THE OVERALL TEST TAKERS.

The SAT system is set up so that about 95 percentile is 700, 99.5 percentile is 800 etc. The reason the curve is 'harder' is because more ppl are doing well. I don't think it changed that much but any differences u might see is because each year the SAT test takerss are a little smarter. Also, this year was the New SAT, so even the average Joe's got panickecd and started taking prep courses etc. That made the percentile scale look 'tougher'. And one math test is not curved harder than the other. It's all standardized. On some forms this year 1 wrong would still get you an 800. But you want toget em all right anyways dont u?

3 wrong 0 omit - 710

i thought i read somewhere that the curve was predetermined, so that it doesn't matter how well the other test takers did, but rather balance out the differences between the different adminstrations.

well thats just false

2 wrong 1 omit = 760 for me.

I took the June SAT I, and I thought the math was easy compared to the Blue book.
