SAT I vs. ACT

I'm just curious on whether top 20 universities will prefer SAT I & SAT subject tests over ACT...

everyone who I know has applied to ivies and other top schools in the past never seemed to mention submitting ACTs...

And if both SAT and ACT are submitted, colleges will consider SAT more...i've heard this somewhere, but is it indeed true?

not sure about other places, but i know that princeton much prefers sat (although they accept either)

what about schools such as UPenn, Northwestern, Tufts, and Emory?

Taking either will not affect your chances.

It may look fishy if you take the ACT and live in the middle of Massachusetts. It isn't the same if you take the SAT in Kansas simply because it's more common in east coast schools.

Then again, as long as you do well, it won't hurt you.

I live in Georgia, and most people tend to settle at UGA for scholarships and such...

not many people plan to apply to top schools around where I live, even though at least a couple seem to get accepted into ivies every year.

Also I heard that the more prestigious the school is, the more they tend to want SAT and SAT II scores...is it true???

SAT II scores are always required by the most elite schools. I really don't see why they would hold taking the ACT against you.
