SAT I vs SAT II fee waiver

Are the fee waivers for subject tests and SATs the same?? Why do I ask? Well I found out you can only get 1/semester; 2/year for an SAT waiver. If they are not the same I'll be able to take both the SAT I&II and be fine. I need to take the SATs and some subject tests before my application deadlines. Any help would be appreciated.

They are the same sadly, so make sure you take subject tests all on the same day if you can – up to three. If you are only going to take SAT I once you should be fine. There are waivers for the ACT too but only 2 per student forever not each year. The SAT is more generous and they give you 4 extra free colleges to send your scores to…

Aw, that sucks. I really do really on those waivers :[
Which do you think is better having one attempt at the ACT plus improving subject test scores OR having one attempt at the SAT plus one attempt at the ACT plus using “rushed” subject test scores (as in not 100% prepared when I took them)

Are you starting your senior year? It seems like you have time to take the ACT once if you want and both SAT I and SAT II (subject tests) since they are offered Sept, Oct, and Dec and you will get 2 SAT waivers – so take SAT once and up to 3 subject tests on one date and if you think you might do well on the ACT try that as well. About 25% of students do much better on the ACT. Try some practice tests and see how you do on those. Have you taken SAT I or II already?

Wait. I cant waiver both my subject tests which i am taking on the same day?

You can get a fee waiver for one testing - whether that includes 1, 2 or 3 subject tests. As long as you take them all on the same day, the fees will be waived. But if you want to take 3 tests on different days, it won’t work.

^ohhh, thanks. I was worried for a minute there :p

OP, where did u find this info? I cant seem to find it in the CB website.

[SAT Fee Waivers](<a href=“The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board”>The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board)

I checked the link, however i cant find any info about the restriction of one pet semester and two per year.

It states that you will recieve up to two sat 1 waivers and two sat 2 waivers. Doesnt say u have to use each waiver a different semester as OP said

There is no semester restriction at all, I don’t know who said that. You have 2 SAT I and 2 SAT II waivers per year. You can use them whenever and you can take up to 3 SAT II tests per test day. My D took the SAT twice and SAT II once (two tests same day) last spring with waivers.
There is this restriction: you cannot use waiver for SAT I before junior year but you can use a waiver for SAT II earlier (I guess because kids take the classes earlier and therefore want to take the subject tests immediately after finishing the class).
Your college counselor should know all this – they will give out your waivers.

I just asked my principal for a waiver. He said he’ll look into it. Im a citiz

Im a citizen living abroad. So im eligible but the school admin isnt familiar with them. OP said there is a one per semester rule. So thats where i got it from.
