Does U of C look at SAT I Writing? Somewhere (I think it was on this forum) I read that they don't, is that true?

No, they don't.

"We don't know what they mean," says Ted O'Neill, Chicago's dean of admissions. "We don't know what they predict."

But it makes me wonder... What if you got a 400 or something? Would they really ignore it?

i went to the open house, they don't consider the writing section on either SAT or ACT in the admissions process. they don't make new scores either (like when you combine differen't parts of different test dates) they just take your highest cumulative.

The Dean of Admissions has publicly said that he thinks the SAT Writing test is stupid. Something along the lines of the ability to write something half-decent in half an hour having nothing to do with the ability to create high quality writing.

It really is a shame that they don't look at it, as I did almost perfect on that section. Oh, well. Such is life. . .

Well, I am into the U. of C., and that is what matters. I did find that section to be quite enjoyable, though, both the essay and the writing section (the grammar section, or what you will).
