Hey I am going to take the American SAT II in October.. and I bought the Kaplan review book. To the people who took it, is the book efficient enough>

yes kaplan is good. i didnt even take apush but after reading kaplan, i got a 760 on the sat 2.

Wow congrats, thanks a lot!

no need to buy SAT prep books. just work hard and understand the material. be able to tie in cause and effect with socioeconomic factors and u'll be cool.

I wish, its just that I took AP US already and I did well (I am an upcoming senior) and in May I took the SATs.. and did well so I do not regret not taking my SAT IIs at the time. I took the practice ?s on CB and got 13/14 of them right so I guess that isn't so bad haha, I just need some brushing up to do.

Taking AP U.S. is seriously the best prep... A couple of stupid mistakes and zero prep. beyond AP related prep a month earlier got me a 750.

I don't completely understand prepping for SAT IIs if you can just choose to take ones in your strong subjects! Taking a related AP/honors class should be sufficient prep, right?

i agree- AP US Rocks! or as my teacher would say "totally kinky" I took that class and them took that sat2 the smae week as the AP exam and got an 800. You just have to make it fun and interesting like my class did. Our only review the day of the test was to sing Billy Joel's song "WE didn't start the fire" which is actually a good review of the 40s-80s. Make inside jokes like we did (thats the only way to get throught 19th century social reformers and have fun- i miss that class!

I used Princeton Review and I got a 760. I also used their AP book and got a 4. I like their style, but I think it would be best to ask your teacher. Teachers have great experience with recomending these books if they have been teaching for a while.

Does I.B. History of the Americas do a good job in preparing you for the SATII?
