SAT II Bio And AP Score for PLME

I received a 730 on bio and a 5 on the ap exam. My scores are fine but are they good enough for PLME. What is an ideal score for getting into PLME? Also, i was wondering if my scores will offset the B i received in the course-there was serious grade deflation (I’m talking 5 point penalty for a pronoun on labs). Thanks!

Technically, ideal would be perfect scores in everything, amazing recs, essays, research, interning, and so forth.

My understanding is that grades matter more than test scores because those tests measure test-taking ability more than understanding. 18.6% of students who took the 2008 Biology AP received a 5, compared with 43.5% of Calculus BC test-takers. So that’s a good sign, but chances are many of the candidates for the program will also have such a score. And based on some of the threads posted here, the 730 is hardly the best score, but probably not the worst for PLME applicants. The course grade may be more of a problem, but it depends on the context of your school and those of the other applicants. Will it 100% mean you won’t get in/will get in? No. In the end, the stronger the rest of your application, the better your chances.

bump…
