I also put the endometrium sheding thing for that question. I put the dog whale thing for homlogus structure and the albino plant depleting the other plant as parasitic.

The tricky ones for me were mesophyll layer and where the photosynthesis takes place (question 4) and the question about plants having golgi.

most energy is lost as you go up each level.

i thought it was feedback for the menstration one?

i also put hot mantle for the hawaiian islands question.. that one makes the least sense.

do sickle cells cause blockages?

amar890 - I believe that was the correct answer. I was stuck between that and the energy loss one as well, but then I noticed that the energy loss one said food CHAIN (The question specifically asked about food webs).

How can there be feedback from the uterus to the Ovary? That makes no sense.

Estrogen levels continue to rise as the follicle develops. Progesterone eventually begin to rise as well. Up to a certain point, the estrogen being produced exerts negative feedback on both GnRH and gonadotropin secretion.

the hawaii one i picked mantle too. i thought isolation would be a factor since isolation (kinda) means small population and non-random mating, which violate the whatever principle..

And yes Sickle Cell does cause blockages.

^^ crap i missed that...

By day 7, the selected follicle begins to outstrip the growth of the subordinate follicles. The process of selection is not well understood. In part local factors may operate. In part, the dominate follicles secretes large amounts of estrogen, which feeds back on the pituitary, reducing FSH stimulation to further follicular development.

i'm not sure what that means. but i know i read something about feedback so i put it down. what do u guys think

endocrine feedback system: estrogen from ovary, at low levels, inhibits brain, pituitary; at very high levels however, as in right before ovulation, estrogen has aPOSITIVE feedback effect. So, right before ovulation, have surge of estrogen, secreted by follicle when it’s ready for ovulation, and surge of estrogen leads to asurge in LH and FSH, leading to…-ovulation

crap i didn't think of that. yea that's definitely the right answer david

Thats was pretty easy, if I got 10 wrong and ommited 2 what score do I have.

Yea, I had sickle cell anemia when I was a kid, and I once had a sickle cell atack, the most painful thing I ever had happen. But, its a miracle, it went away.

how many do u guys think we can miss and still get an 800

i'm not really sure because in the real sat II book by college board, it seems like you could get 2-3 wrong and still get an 800 but sparknotes's curve is much smaller (like 1 wrong).
i'm slightly hesitant about the college board's book because the test is from november 1998, so things have most likely changed since then

also, kaplan has a large curve similar to the college board's

amar i think the answer to the food chain one was that herbivores get more energy than carnivores

but um isn't it true that the higher up you go more energy is lost?

but as you move up the food chain/web, energy is lost
