i took the dec. bio and got a 630!!! can you 700s recommend a good study guide?? i am doing the jan SAT II

i got 800 bio m/e, read your biology text. look ove rbacterial transformation and simple plant and animal parts.

thanx, more words on this???

What biology classes have you taken? The CliffsAP book that I used to prepare for the AP exam was extremely useful in preparing for the SAT II. The only thing that I didn't know from the AP book (and the only thing I missed on the test) was animal parts.

i took biology University level used campbell and reece 6th edtion. i missed animal parts and diseases last time and am going to look through it

hi there, don't stress! get the baron's bio sat ii book and the cliffs ap bio book, go through both of them in entirety and do a couple of practice bio tests (found in the back of baron's). you should be set for a 700+.

i also strongly recommend the molecular option over the other one, but that's really up to you.

Just for encouragement... I took the test as a Junior and got a 620 and then as a senior and got a 710, with no studying. Sometimes you'll just have a crappy testing day.

Newby- if youve read campbell's 6th cover to cover, the sat ii bio test will be easier than u can imagine. ive read it twice cover to cover and mader's 8th once cover to cover and maders is easier but campbell's covers it all in greater detail. take the online campbell's bio tests, theyre tough, b8ut if youre pulling 85%+, youre looking good.

First of all, buy Kaplan Biology.
Then, as I did, read the book chapter after chapter and write shortly in the copybook the summary of this chapter, basic termines, schemes and so on.
When I finish your book, just read your copybook every evening.

I think it's rather good method. I enhanced my scores from 550 to 760. Good luck!

I took ap bio my junior year (I ended up with a 5) and took the sat II a month after the ap...the only book I used was the Real SAT II book, and did one sample test and I got a 770. So, if you're in ap bio you should be fine.

I'm taking the Bio 2 M in Jan. I have the Barron's latest edition as a study guide, but I'm not sure just how much I need to study for the content. The Bio2 test has a basic section and then a section designated for either the E or M part. Well, then how come the entire Barron's review is cumulative? It combines every aspect of biology. SO... if I'm studying for the M part, then do I have to study the whole book? Or can I skip the environmental parts that seem to be part of ecology? The book doesn't distinguish chapters with M or E. Help, anyone?

Okay. I just reread my post and realized how stupid of a question it was. Maybe I should look over the outline of the test before I actually ask questions. Sorry, nevermind. I figured it out =).

AP Bio prepares you really well for the Bio SAT II. I got a 5 on the AP test, even though I thought I completely bombed it.
I ended up glancing through the CliffsAP Bio book and got an 800 on the Bio E section.
Know your systems and cycles and you'll be set.
