SAT II Biology for Freshies

My little brother is a freshman who is enrolled in Biology Honors this year. He is thinking about taking the SAT II Biology in June. He's maintaining a high A and consistently sets the curve.

Thing is, he's also going to take AP Bio in his junior year but by then, he'll have to worry and study for all of his other testing.

Is the SAT II Biology hard and is it worth it to take it early?

Any advice would be appreciated!

of all the science sat 2s, bio is probably the easiest. most ppl in my grade used their freshman bio sat 2 score on college apps - and especially if your brother is as bright as he seems to be, i'm sure he'll do well.

Yeah, I agree. Bio is a relatively easy test, and you definitely don't need to take an AP class to do well on it.

EXCELLENT QUESTION! Many of the epeople taking it are in APBio so why put yourself at such a disadvantage? I did that and I got a 610...never got another score below 730. If AP Bio is on the plate, WAIT!!!

My advice would be to have him take a few practice tests and see how well he does.

Taking the SAT II Bio when you are in AP Bio is a cakewalk. I would recommend taking it in April-June of when he takes AP Bio and he will be more than prepared for whatever SAT II Bio throws at him.

Wouldn't he be REALLY overwhelmed with other tests and college stuff?

The college counselor recommended that he should take it now, but nobody in the school trusts her.

I wasn't and I took 4 AP's and 6 SAT II's
I got slightly burnt out from the AP's but the SAT II's don't require studying and taking the SAT II before the AP sort of prepared me for the onslaught that was my AP's.
