I have studied biology for the SAT II test, from Barron's SAT book, and decided to buy a biology textbook to widen my knowledge ...
Is Life the science of biology 8th edition a good textbook for the SAT II exam, (I can get the book for 60$ less than Campbell Reece Biology 8th)

campbell is the bible. sadly, anything else is really not up to the job. that's my personal opinion but i love campbell. i suggest you get cliff's AP biology. that book is golden and will prepare you like no other for the SATII.

^ Agreed. If you want to really overprepare for the SAT Bio test AP Cliffs Bio is the best prep to do it. Campbell has too much superfluous info (not to mention it'd take you a ridiculously long time to read just to study for the SAT Bio..). If you study Barron's hardcore enough though it should certainly get you at least 750+.
