SAT II Biology

Best SAT II Biology -- Best practice book? What do you think of 2003-2004 Cracking the SAT II: Biology?!

Kaplan is the best for material.

Real SAT II: Subject Tests is the best for tests - though it only has one. Sparknotes is next best.

PR has weird tests and isn't as comprehensive as Kaplan.

cliffs AP is very nice

Kaplan + Sparknotes = awesome. (sparknotes is free online btw) only thing you might want to do is research famous diseases (malaria, smallpox, etc) see if they are bacteria, virus, protozoa (know that malaria is a protozoa) and the treatment as well.

I don't think you need to know diseases for the SAT II... at least I didn't and the only book that covered them was Barron's which is meant to prepare you for tests other than the SAT II.

theoneo...for the most part, you don't have to know diseases. Nevertheless, I heard that the Sept. test had 2 to 3 questions about diseases. We had a question about systolic/diastolic pressure in November. There's always a few quirky questions, perhaps you are right and diseases fall under that category. Better safe than sorry though. But I agree, low probability of having questions...but half the book might not be covered by the test.

Hm systolic/diastolic is cardiovascular system. I learned that in school. I remember it was in Barron's, too, but not under diseases.

Sparknotes is good, but make sure you supplement it with something else - it's pretty bare bones. I used only Sparknotes and got a 680. Wish I had used something else in addition.

If I take either Bio SAT II on the January 28th test date, will my AP Bio class have covered enough material for me to do well?

LOLOL Rman nice prediction gg

Haha yes that was quite the call.
