I don't really think you'll get into the functions for the 89 on Math I or II. My vote (although not totally reliable) is go for the 83, what you know.

speaking from experience, i would say that the calculator that you are most comfortable with is the best.

take the 83 (erase any games that you might have on there...they get distracting :) )

haha.. no
will i be albe to use both on the test?

My proctor only allowed me one calculator on my desk. (I had a Ti84 and Ti89)
When I needed something from the 89, I would just grab it from under my desk. No one said anything

Yeah you can use a calculator on the test, but I'd recommend sticking to the 83. Since most of the country uses that calculator for classes like algebra 2, precalculus, calculus, etc, you'd be better off on the test just using the 83.

I'm pretty sure you can use both, or say the other one is back up.

Ok, phew. Wasn't sure if you could use an 89.

Although the 89 can be used to your advantage on the test, it really, really depends on which one you are most comfortable with. I have used an 89 since the beginning of my freshman year, and I know it a lot better than the 83 or 84. As for using both, I don't have any specific advice. Being clear with your proctor is the safest bet, though.
