Hey im a junior in high school and i'm interested in applying to colleges with the accelerated medical programs i noticed quite a few of them require the chem subject test (HPME, Boston U) but i'm not in ap chem this year, so i'm signing up for chem at the community college for both experience and help with the test, does anyone think this class will help with the chem subject test?

It will help greatly if you haven't been exposed to much chemistry.

I don't think you need AP for the test; I got an 800 with taking Honors Chem. I took AP in junior year, but the questions on the test are pretty straightforward.

yea SAT II chem isn't that tough, just sit down and rd a couple review books and your set. I only took honors chem like hydrogen and got a 780.

wow, 800..780 i'd be soooo happy if i could do that well, i did take gifted chem last year so i think i'll just get a review book like you guys said and take some other community coll course. thanx for the advice =D

it all depends on how you can learn- if you need classroom instruction, the college course is great but if you can self study, then just grab a prep book and go though the concepts you are unfamiliar with or don't completely know

AP Chem would really help, i think. What have you covered in honors? X-reference it with review books and see if you know most of the material. if not - AP Chem would be good prep.

I highly recommend that you look at AP chemistry prep books.
