How does the difficulty of the Sparknotes practice tests for chem compare with that of the real test? I'm slightly discouraged, because I want an 800 but only got a freaking 630 (though I have only beginning to study out of the Barron's book).

Okay, new question. I got a 680-700 on my BARRONS practice test - rather than the Sparknotes one, what is an approximation of what I would get on my real test? I like to think of this as my diagnostic test as I have barely begun to study…

Dude, the SAT chem tests on Sparknotes are pretty messed up-- they are much harder. I took all three of their tests and received a lower score each time around (620, 600, 580) and a 750 on the real deal. Personally I used the princeton review for my chem sat studying, and their tests were relatively good. Also, if you can, try and take the OFFICIAL chem sat ii practice test in the big blue book (the one with all the sat ii practice tests). You can prob find it in your library.

Here’s a link to a thread that might also be of help, regarding practice test scores:

Finish studying the Barron’s book then take the test again. Your chem might be good, but your test taking skills might be poor. Spend some time on your test taking skills and you’ll be fine.
