SAT II French

After looking through the forum, I can't find a thread for French. Thus, I start one.

What can people tell me about the French exam? I'm not a native speaker, but I'm the best in my class and am thinking about majoring in the language. I've heard from some sources that it's very easy and from others (including a native speaker) that it's close to impossible. Thoughts?

Also--what is listening/not listening?

i'm thinking about taking the sat 2 french (without listening) also... so any advice would be great =)

i'm a junior and am currently taking AP French

does anyone by chance have a score conversion table for this subject test?

thanks.

HI all, you could check this french sat2 thread for more info http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=121380

rindonkulous, you could get the blue CB Real SAT sbuject tests book to see how the french test is like...and the PR and Barron's are also very excellent prep. listening is taken only in nov, or so, while the reading test is taken several times a year. the listening test has a listening component to it.

college54, the PR and CB books both have score conversion tables but i don't know how accurate they are, since difficulty varies from time to time, while CB has the same old practice tests....tho PR's may be quite like the real thing

i am too. yay team. i suck at french

French Prep that works!

I did a Rassias Group 7 day immersion on my spring break last year. It was amazing. They have one this year at Greenwich Academy in CT and some in California, too. March 11-17 i think. You can contact them at 603-643-7674 or see www.rassiasgroup.com.

They began at Dartmouth and have been doing langague immersions for SAT and AP for a long time. It is really fun, intense, and made a huge difference for me. It costs, but it is worth it.

Is there much of a difference to Barron's AP French book and Barron's SAT II French book? (Aside from the obvious speaking section in the AP book) I really don't want to get another book. Hmm, any free on-line resources for grammar review or vocbulary? Also, is idiomatic French emphasized a lot on the SAT II test? Woohoo questions!

if u get a 5 on ap french test then ur bound for a 670+....I got a 5 and got a 760..didnt study at al for the sat2 though.

I always heard that the AP French exam was a lot easier than the SAT II...

Really BreRocks? I heard the opposite: AP Languages are harder than the SAT II...

Oops, that was what I meant. Sorry...Uuuh, winter break? Heh

^yeah b/c ap test u have to write an essay and verb conjugasions. while sat 2 is only MC.

i'm taking AP French Language in school now and I'm taking the January 28th SATII in French-- haven't had any time to study with applications, but hopefully my AP class will be adequate preparation!
