did anyone get a 700+ on SAT II french lang with only independant study? what books / resources did you use?

i have never taken any SAT subject tests (real or practice) so i was just wondering - will the subject tests pull any sort of trick questions like the SAT I (like those problems in the writing section where you absolutely think that a sentence has no errors but turns out it does)?

I think the French SAT II is much, much easier than any writing section problems. XD I would much rather replace all my English writing questions for French ones. The tricks on this french II are just words that students often get mixed up with or words that look similar in spelling but mean different things.

Okay, for French, don't trust any prep books. I would rely on your textbook..personally I'm going to rely on "En Bonne Forme" seventh edition. It's very useful for grammar.

I'm pretty decent in French (grammar and such), so I doubt that poring over a textbook would help me much... what I really want is practice on the specific things that are on the SAT II. So if I did want to use a prep book, which would you recommend?

Well I know there is a PR book, and in fact I have it, but since I have nothing to compare it to, I don't know how good it is. All I know is that it only has two practice tests, which annoys me.

There's also a Barron's book, but unlike Barrons' usual standard, the tests are NOT harder than the real test. They're just kind of crappy, I heard.
