Trying to give my younger cousin advice. She's taking AP History now in her freshman year of high school. She goes to a really small school and I think that's the only history class they offer freshman. I've read the advice that the SAT subject tests should be taken soon after completing that class. So should she take a SAT II this summer, or would a freshman AP class be unlikely advanced enough to prepare her for the test?

Also, are there a number of AP History SAT IIs? i.e. U.S. History, World History, etc.

Thanks for your help.

Take the SAT II in May.

History and Social Studies

* U.S. History (formerly American History and Social Studies)
* World History

if the school, by designating the class as "AP" thinks it is good enough for the AP test, it should be good enough for the SAT subject test. have her take the world history test in may (literally days after the AP test) or a month later in june, but no later.

repeat the process after taking a US history class.
