SAT II Help

I am applying to a lot of top colleges and already have a good ACT score (34). I am planning on majoring in engineering, so I know I need two SAT subject tests, math ii and another science (requirements by Cornell). I am signed up for bio and math ii in June, but I am really struggling with the bio test. In my school, we take sciences in the order of physics, chem, bio, then an AP of the student's choice. I took chem last year without studying much and scored a 680. I am taking AP Physics next fall.

Even though I currently am in honors bio, the class does not correlate well with the actual test. I have been studying the Princeton Review book, but still have half of the book to go, and it is all stuff we did not cover in class. So basically I have no time. Meanwhile, I took a Spark Notes Test in both bio and physics today, and my physics score beat my bio even though I haven't studied physics since freshman year.

I know I need to beat a 680 before I apply to colleges, and my worry is if I wait until the fall to take physics and don't do well, it will look bad on my resume. I also know that Penn and other schools require students to submit all SAT subject tests. What should I do?

I really need help. Thanks!

You definitely have enough time to go through the Princeton Review book. What I would do if I were you is, study hard for this SAT Bio exam with the PR book and take some practice tests the day before. If you feel comfortable with the material, take the test. You have the option of not taking the test by just informing the instructor at the testing site.

Also, bear in mind, I do not believe Cornell is one of the colleges that requires you to send all of your SAT Subject test scores, so you can hide ones that you do poorly on.

So, yes, I say take the Bio test if you are comfortable and if not, just study hard for physics over the summer and take it in October. You should also have time to take the November test if you do poorly on the October test.

I hope this helps in your decision making process somewhat.
