hi guys, I'm new here and I'm hoping you'll be able to help. I need to register for the SAT IIs TOMORROW so its kinda urgent.

My native language is Spanish, so a friend of my dad's who works at Harvard told me to choose the Spanish subject test 'cause I'll get a great score. But won't this look like I'm taking the easy way out to admission offices? Like, well duh we know you speak spanish..

thank you in advance!

positives: It is your native language, so in theory, you will get an excellent score.

negatives: If for some reason, you're having a bad day and aren't focusing, or if you basically if you do poorly for any reason, it could hurt you because it IS your native language.

hope I helped you out somewhat :)

Yeah that helped thaks! so you think it won't look bad to colleges that it's my native language?

This from the Harvard admissions office:

"Candidates whose native language is not English should not take any of their three SAT II tests in their native language."

That's at the following URL:

http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/utilities/faq/international/test/index.html

I'd go ahead and take the Spanish test if you like, because some colleges may accept it and it won't hurt, but DO NOT USE IT AS ONE OF YOUR REQUIRED TESTS :) . That's my best advice anyway.
