My friend is taking the Lit test this Saturday, and she needs a 700+. Any tips or suggestions from people who have taken it before?

I took it and got an 800, but I just told her to memorize some lit terms. The test was easy for me, because I am an avid reader. However, I think it will be much more difficult for someone who is not a reader.

What tricks can I tell her to use for someone who is not that much of a reader?

Tell her to take many practice tests to simulate the 60 minute time limit. And she should familiarize herself with the types of literature she is most uncomfortable with (i.e poetry, prose, plays, etc).

Incidentally, Lady_Leonella07, how many wrongs did you get for that 800? I'm retaking the SAT II Lit this Saturday, and want to know how the curve is. Also, does anyone know if the Kaplan conversion chart in any way resembles past tests?

A BIG suggestion (which may be kind of obvious) is to always FIRST look at what dates the poems or proses was written in, and start off with the eras you are most comfortable with; you can usually tell right off the bat just based on the language, but generally it really helps put a peice into perspective.

This is from the Princeton Review SAT II Literature Prep Book, 2005-2006 edition:

800 = raw score of 56 to 61
750-790 = raw score of 50 to 55
700-750 = raw score of 45 to 59
650-690 = raw score of 39 to 43
600-640 = raw score of 33 to 38
550-590 = raw score of 28 to 32
500-540 = raw score of 23 to 27
400-490 = raw score of 11 to 22
300-390 = raw score of -1 to 10

So, you can miss as many as 4 questions, and still get an 800. Not the easiest curve of the Subject Tests, but still pretty good!

gosh i did SO bad on the CR of the sat... i got like 800s in the other two but cr i got like a 500 something. which means im gonna do horrible in lit since im gonna study last minute at barnesandnoble tonight -___-;;

where can I get a pratice test for the lit....besides a book. lol i'm taking it tomorrow and i just started studying, but i just finished a short fiction intensive class today. so that helps. any ideas? online tests?
