SAT II Literature - June 4th

^^Yes, for comparing some national contraceptive laws that is what I got.

@ fireflies: yes, that was it.

was it that the husband was ambitious and he wanted to live a luxurious life?

What were the other choices for “incite revolt”?

What were the other choices for “between two cultures”?

born2dance94: I don’t see where you’re coming from with #3. The fact that they said personality is more important than appearances does not negate the fact that they were discussing good looks etc. Appearances still is the outside characteristics. Then they go on to say personality is more important, but the question asked what they meant by “appearances”.

@smacking Hmm. I never thought of it like that. Perhaps. Honestly, I can’t even remember what I put for that question. I remember taking almost a minute to do it though, because I was confused at first.

one of the answers i put in that section was along the lines of “books are a generally valuable resource”

maybe that was another answer to the incite revolt question, because i didn’t choose incite revolt

does anyone have any sense of the scaled score for an:
omit 8
miss, let’s say, 5 or 6

i hate this test. i’m an 800 CR, but, as a really slow reader, i can never finish the test. at least the schools i’m applying to mostly take score choice for subject tests, and at least i think i did well on two others today.

^I think I got that zposture. Is it wrong?

how did you guys come to the conclusion that georgiana was “tired and intimidating”?

She wasn’t. The party was tiring and intimidating.

It wasn’t tiring; it was tedious in the answer choice

I put the D option about dull but musically exciting… Idk… I just thought because they mentioned all the music they were bringing in. Guess I fell for the trap.

I fully understand why people avoid this test now.

Some of the passages were so time consuming… I usually finish Subject tests with excess of 20 minutes to spare, today I ran out of time with 4 to go. If I get lucky, 650+ if not, I’m hoping for 600+ O:

I honestly thought it was easier than the SAT CR section. Maybe because I suck at vocab.

I don’t think I put yellowing paper and I.D. Card or w/e for the attic one…anyone care to explain that one?

I picked that too, but what confused me was that it said “yellow card”, not yellowing or yellowed… maybe it was inherently yellow?

@max

the question asked what were signs of time or aging or something like that

and since the paper has become yellow after a long period of time, and the guy in the picture looks much younger than what he looks like now, both of them are signs of aging

I had the same problem, Interficio. POW got me my answer though.

but that’s the thing, it only says yellow card, not one that has become ywllow over time. I know I’m splitting hairs, but…

I could’ve sworn that there was another answer that I put… it was D I think, but I can’t remember what it was >.<
