just take the practice test from the official real sat ii book. studying all the literary terms and stuff is worthless imo.

I got Barons SAT Preparation book. Like the above poster, studying for lit terms is a waste of time. Continue taking practice tests up until the day comes to take the test. For Lit, you can't study it like you would Biology. Only practice will help you get better.

I agree with the above. Just take practice tests. I used Kaplan and thought it was pretty good. It has the most practice tests (eight) of any Lit prep book that I've seen, so it's a good one to have.

actually Barron's has 9 (2 diagnostic and 7 additional practice tests).

Does anyone know how Barron's and PR's tests compare to the actual thing?

I'm taking this test in December. How similar is it to the critical reading section of the SAT I, and what other stuff is there? Also, what is the difficulty level compared to SAT CR, if I got 700+ on CR is it probable that I will get the same on literature?

I took it in October and used Princeton Review...I definitely DON'T reccomend it. When taking Princeton, I often had a good 20-30 minutes left over. Test Day I basically ran out of time and answered the last 3 randomly. Questions are somewhat similar in style I guess...but it doesn't model the test very accurately IMO.

IMO, PR is awful. PR concentrates on literary techniques whereas the actual test is more like analyzing the story (CR-ish). However, going through the PR book can't hurt (and because it's sooo short, it shouldn't take more than a few hours).

1337hax0r, I took the SATI March, so I'm not sure if my memory's all that accurate, but I thought it was very similar to the SAT CR. The difficulty level is slightly higher, mainly because you now have to analyze poetry.

barron's is also a lot harder than actual test

1337hax0r-

I got a 670 on Lit and 680 on CR if it matters. But I usually get above 680 in CR on practice tests...

what the...

I just took the practice lit test from CB's book and got a 710...
but I've scored 740 on the last 3 tests from Barron's book...

dies

Barron's is much more difficult.

yeah. I guess... then what the heck happened. I must not have been focused enough.

I bought the PR Lit book today, so should I exchange it for the Barron's lit?
