SAT II Literature

why isn't poppy a bouquet? you know, like a funeral bouqet?

Poppy was used like a drug in that context.

hmm, was the bitterly ironic and capitulation one the same question??
I don't remember that it was lol. I said it was the perspective of slaveholders, but I don't remember why.

Bitterly ironic and capitulation are the answer choices in the same question.

Ummm are you sure...? I remember one answer choice for that as naive ...and then after that i dont remember but im pretttttyyyy sure that bitterly ironic (tone questions?)was something else. Maybe someone can refresh memories here. And guguru , the perspective of the slaveholders sounds completely off, I think I nailed the first passage .

The one where it was parellism and contrast as your answers, I picked : simple sentences... Think it is same one anyway...

The hydragnea(sp?) was getting dark on the edges:represents that when something stays around long enough satisfaction is never acheived...very iffy on this one.

I think the one with stiches is one to be spoken about...I hope someone else remembers more.

MRS.TODD passage:
her personality is best described by ... I did NOT choose her dialogue, perhaps I did choose her habits, but I doubt that even.I cannot remember many of the choices.

"My heart was gone out o' my keepin'" - i chose the one with jealous in it.

SONNET/SLEEP:
1 "soothest"? - I said quiet (no disruptances from outside) the first 3 just seemed identical (lulled, relaxed, calm) and quiet seemed correct.

Letter to woman from exlover:
For the one about lovers...I chose 2 of the questions answeresto be about of the speaker thinking his reactoin was the truest.

Does anyone remember the answer to the one where the speaker was telling his lover directly something in the letter about his state....may be "the truest" answer...really confused on that. ENTIRELY.

I think the most obvious question for that passage was that "all of these are conventional reactions to losing a lover EXCEPT": "still waters"

and this: the speaker compares himself to a burning fire?

wut was that poppy question about??? I barely remember that one, can anyone refresh my memory?

something about what the poppy was as in the context of the poem-choices:narcotic, bouquet...

So, narcotic?

which poem was this again? was it the sleep poem in which he couldn't fall asleep?

It was definitely the perspective of shareholders. The passage said something like:

"she taught me the alphabets which was dangerous both to her and to me"

it wasnt her point of view at that point but the point of view of most shareholders. Slaves were kept in order by being uneducated.

And upon further review I might be wrong about the bitter tone one...oh well. I had it narrowed down to capitulation and bitter i hope my other guesses were right

i said narcotic.

umm i still think it was the speaker's p.o.v

I agree with ahdfhh about the pov question.

What about the meaning of threaded, in the vines poem?

wut do u mean by shareholders? r we talking about the stockmarket, ^^? I agree with steph, why wouldn't it be the perspective of the speaker?

I put most lulling... Lulling refers to an effect on the person, while relaxed and calm only imply a state of mind, and the soothest seemed to refer to the effect on the person's mind, and not just a state of calmness or relaxation. Lol, I am so confused.

I think they meant slaveholders.

I put narcotic too.

oh god....i did horribly...left out 7 questions. bah

i put threaded meant it had meaning when strung together with other seemingly meaningless events, or however they worded it.

I put threaded as a higher power.
