SAT II makes up for SAT?

Hi. I have no clue why, but I got a 680 on the SAT I Math section and a 790 on the Math Level 2 subject test. Don't ask me why that is, since I have no clue why, and I know it's really backwards, but I just want to know: will MIT overlook the SAT I subscore for the much better SAT II score? I really hope so, because I can't take the SAT I again.

You’re absolutely fine, don’t worry about it :)

Expanded answer: MIT generally looks for 700+ on SAT scores. While 680 doesn’t meet that, it’s awfully close, and the 790 on your SAT Math II clears up any misconception there. I was in a similar situation as an applicant.

I’m in the same boat. 720 in the SAT I Math, but I didn’t want to take it again, so I took the Math 2 for a 780. CB should do something about the SAT I Math curve. It makes us look like we know pre-calculus well without knowing any basics. :O
