SAT II Math 2 and ACT math subscore for math major? + Should I send in my SAT score?

I am applying to UCs (Berkeley, LA, Davis, Irvine, and San Diego), USC, NYU, and some Ivies (possibly out of reach) as a math/applied math major.

I will take the SAT II Math 2 Subject Test in October (again in November if necessary). What should be my target score? Will all end if I don’t get an 800?

I am also retaking the ACT very soon. I originally got a composite of 34, with a math subscore of 34. Should I be worried? Should I aim for a 36 on math?

Lastly, I took the SAT once and am unsure if I should submit my scores to schools. I got a 1470 composite (680 R/W and 790 math). My ACT composite (34) is higher, but my SAT essay was pretty good (22/24).

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

The 790 SAT math sub score is equivalent to a 35 ACT math sub score, so that is good enough for your math. Maybe if you submit both the SAT and ACT you will have high enough scores for both math and English.

You should aim for an 800 in the Math II because, for this particular subject test, an 800 is only somewhere near the 80th percentile. Do lots of practice tests at home to get your speed up. The Kaplan study book is good.
