I am a senior and need to take two SAT II's this year. I wanted to take SAT II Math IC, but i just heard that many colleges are not accept it. Does Harvard accept it?
To Harvard students . . . did any of you take it?

it's copletely fine to take math ic if you're not strong in math, it'd be weird if you 're considering majoring math or anything on the common app, but take the Ic exam, so as long as you take it, try not to emphasize math in your application

Wow, you sure have a distorted sense of reality. First of all, there's no reason to believe that the OP is Asian and the fact that you seem to imply all Asians are masters of math/science is highly troubling. You may not know Asians who dislike math in your upper-class environment but I know plenty. Also, only the top 10-15% of those who take Math IIC actually ace it and the pool of students who take this test is quite self-selective. Please don't put the OP down with your stereotypical generalizations that are largely inaccurate. Not only are you making Harvard look elitist and making yourself look bad with a comment like this, but you're also providing the OP with false information by making him believe that he has to take the challenging one of the two math subject tests offered even when mathematics may not be his strong suit.

To the OP, Harvard makes no distinction if you take Math Level I or II. If you've gotten up to Precalculus in your school curriculum, you will probalby perform better on the IIC since the curve is much more lenient than the IC so keep that in mind. Pick the subjects that you're strongest in.

WIDE EYES xjayz...can it be true???? lol. i was wondering though...what if u took both? Dont ask me why I took both on the same day because honestly I dont know but i did and aced the IIC but got a low 700 on the IC. lol. how does that weigh?

Thank you so much, all, for your advice.
FYI, i am not asian. I am European, Mexican, etc.
I have taken Precalculus, but it was over the summer (i wanted to AP Calculus at my school, so i had to take it in the summer)

congrats Xjayz, but I'm guessing you must have had some serious EC? Because from what this instructor at Harvard told me, if you're taking hard math classes, yet you fail to take Math IIC, they think that it's because you didn't master the curriculum etc.

Also, yeah, I know that I wasn't sure what ethnicity he was, but I was just basing it on personal experience. Notice how I said "every asian I knew" because I wanted to clarify that that was probably not standard for everyone. Congrats to xjayz, but he's not an "asian I know", and based on the average person's ECs, taking the harder stuff for everything is never a bad option.

Obviously dictator, you haven't read **** cuz I didn't put him down, I just gave him what I thought was good advice, and to the best of my knowledge, it still is. I'm not upper class, and I'm not elitist. I don't know where the hell you got that from. Make myself look bad? To who? You? And hey, I know not all asians are math/science, you don't need to point out obvious facts to me, I'm just generalizing here, and so before you go off talking about how I'm hating on everyone why don't you first check your own reality before attacking me for my ****?
