I'm taking the SAT II Math IC in June. What is the best way for me to prepare? I'm aiming for something above 700.

Aim for an 800 :D I think somewhere around 16-20% of the people who take it get an 800 (which is not a perfect score - remember, the test is curved...)

But I'm taking it also this June. I think I'm going to do a bunch of practice tests from the Barron's SATII Math Lv2 book. And since my Precalc H 10 final is the day before this SATII, I won't need to do much additional studying :D

Pull out your trig/precalc books and start practicing.

Unlike the SAT I Reasoning, the score for this one does not depend critically on exactly how many you get right. Miss less than five, and you should get a 800. Good luck!

Whoa.. back when I took the II(two(2))C there was precalc but I didn't know that was on the 1C... Did the previous posters misread that?

the OP is taking IC. there isn't trig/precalc on that.

Yeah, they got confused.

It's actually not that easy to get a 700 on IC.

Are you sure you want to take the IC instead of the IIC? Some colleges require the IIC only.

Yeah, if you know precalc I'd strongly recommend taking the IIC just because the curve is a lot more generous (you can make several mistakes and still get an 800). If you do take the IC make sure you're really, really careful with your computation.

ooh... IIC would have had a better curve...

That's the only reason I applied for IIC even though I haven't gone over all the topics in class yet. Eliminating choices, pluging in answers will hopefully get me through...

I took both the Ic and IIc ages ago when I did my undergrad applications. I wound up with a 710 on the Ic and a 790 on the IIc because the material was much fresher in my head (I had had it within the past few years).

well I'm finishing algebra II/trig honors now so I'm taking the IC.
