SAT II Math Level Two May 2012

it’s 6 factors, defnitely

@byahnoob - I know the answer is 6000 because I did it a couple times after the test just to make sure. But…ughhh. Paranoia starting to sink in.

@StudiousMaximus oh haha ya I am. I did it like 2 hours before the actual test.

Definitely 6 zeroes.

@BCeagles303 - yeah def 6
@meepster - yeah its 6000 but i think i bubbled in the wrong one? lol

why was there no possible triangle? i thought there were two possible. Angle A = 42 degrees. AB=6, BC=4. Please explain?

@Cyanosuree: Oh, that’s the third one I skipped!

what was the range one? it was easy but just to be sure…the one with like -3sin(2x+1) + 4 or something. just a regular range problem right? sin is limited to -1 to 1 so that term would be -3 to 3?

how does the scoring work??? in my kaplan book its max of 6 wrong for 800 and then -10points for each -1 on raw score

@swoony - it was 3sin(2x+1) + 1 i think

ivy, 34 act is still pretty good. i go to a competitive high school too, so my gpa is tad low… sats lol i worked hard for it. i might just end up this test because i know i definitely can get an 800 -__- 790 just wont do for me right now. im taking the physics sat in june anyways so i might just take it then and cancel todays test ■■■. good luck with your score decision and applications. hopefully we’ll get into somewhere good next year.

swoony: im sure if you get your sat score up by next year you’ll be a competitive applicant. yeah i would advise you to try your best to earn leadership positions lol. im a sports captain and vice president/captains in 3 of my clubs. and as ivy stated, just write awesome essays.

@zkhan, the triangle cannot exist. if you did it with the law of sines, sinx would have turned out to be >1

zkhan: 6sin(42 degrees) is a little more than 4. Side a is 4. So side a cannot touch the base, and there is no triangle.

yea surface area of cylinder was 6pir^2.

Maximum was 22.4, right? Of the function where quadratic regression was required?

I’m mad … i forgot the formula for surface area of cylinder

How did you guys solve the bird population question?
And the last question on population increase?

P.S. I’m going to cancel this one and retake it on June along with Bio and Physics

@Byahnoob, me too xD.
But I figured I can take the area and multiplay it by two and add it to the circumference*height.

yea studious i got that. (calculator lol)

Can someone pls compile ans? lol

Yep, the maximum of the quadratic recession formula was 22.4.

im with you iris :smiley: except ill be taking only physics

Also, you could solve the bird population problem with a system of equations. X + Y = 14000 and 0.20X=0.15Y.
