SAT II Math Level1+2 Calculator

Hi all,

I am an international applicant and my test for said SAT Exams in title is very soon, 16 days. And I need to buy a graphical calculator urgently.

In UK AFAIK you are not allowed graphical calculators for exams.

I currently have the fx-991ES which is a casio and a scientific calculator, and I am really aiming for 800 for both, I have entered for both and got the prep books for them (Princeton + Barrons) and I feel it is too late to enter for another exam.

So yeah advice on which calculator would be best would be kindly obliged, as I need to familiarize myself with its capability immediately. I have heard from others that TI (Texas Instruments are in popular demand). So yeah can anyone help me out asap please.

Kind Regards

Nate :)

EDIT - Any links and how much they cost would also be appreciated

Definitely TI-84!

Well, use whatever kind you’re comfortable with, don’t buy a specific one just for one single test. Frankly, if you know the materials, TI-84 helps a lot, since it’s easier to manipulate (at least for me), good luck anyways!

Hey thanks for your reply. I intend to get a TI calculator asap. Just out of interest would you say that the TI84 is better than the TI89 and is worth getting :)

Thank you, would you say that the TI89 is better than the TI84 and yes I know the calculator can only go so far. Thanks for the reply :)

I have been using my TI-83 (precursor to the 84) to study and teach math through differential equations since the mid-1990s.

You don’t need anything more than an 84.

What you’re really lacking is not the right calculator, but the time to learn how to use any graphing calculator quickly, wisely and well.

bump bump bump, I need to order it today due to shipping :))))

[Amazon.com: Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphing Calculator (Packaging may vary): BANTA BOOK GROUP: Electronics](http://www.amazon.com/Texas-Instruments-TI-84-Calculator-Packaging/dp/B0001EMM0Q)

[Amazon.com: Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator: Electronics](http://www.amazon.com/Texas-Instruments-TI-84-Graphing-Calculator/dp/B0001EMM0G)

So guys which one would say is better, the silver edition, or the graphing one.

Thanks.

They’re both graphing calculators. If you’re concerned only about college entrance exams for the U.S., they’re equally good food that purpose and you should skip by price (or maybe by shortest shipping time! ).

Thank you for your help :)
