**SAT II November Biology Discussion**

I didn’t finish that first sentence. The longer the piece, the shorter it would travel in the gel. If it was only cut with or restriction enzyme that only had one restriction site, then there would be only one bar displayed in the gel electrophoresis (like the first questions answer). I don’t remember the middle ones, but the last one used all the restriction sites so the answer was the gel electrophoresis with 4 bars shown.

@mdorbust and I agree with you, except I had Princeton Review, but it was nothing like those practice tests either. You can’t expect the prep books to be as close to the subject tests as the prep books are close to the normal SAT though because there are less versions to analyze for the companies and there isn’t an official prep book made by college board themselves

Sameeee I did all the practice tests from Princetons and Barron’s, the actual test has information not given from any of the prep books and is so much harder than the only test CB released. How does CB expect people to know everything without telling us what to study for? It’s nonsense

And plus, those questions are pretty darn long to read. For some questions, I literally spent one minute reading the question…

do u guys think there will be a curve?

like big or small curve?

I’m glad there is some consensus… I was worried sick that I was the only one who was freaking out…I read Barron’s cover to cover and basically memorizing everything in the damn book but the test covered completely different material…I read the first couple of questions and panicked so hard, i ended up skipping around like crazy and working backwards  it was rough to say the least.

There were a couple of questions covered nowhere. I left like 3 unanswered cause didn’t wanna take a risk. Also that Tundra thawing one was soo vague i honestly couldn’t decide which option to pick

@Runners @Wreckdecembersat the elaborate monopoly that the College Board has created is completely mind blowing. I’m convinced that the reason they don’t issue out their own prep books for SAT IIs is to screw over students into having them retest over and over again…therefore giving CB a nice pile of $$$. I was also amused to hear the proctor today remind us to utilize Score Choice…how CONVENIENT that I can pay even more money to this corrupt and lowlife organization!

Okay I’ll chill out now lol. But yeah I’m hoping that the curve will be lenient… :frowning:

@Anh7609 SAMEE. I felt like some questions were so oddly specific and then others were so broad and vague like wut…I think I ended up picking B, the choice about CO2, but I’m pretty sure its wrong lmao. F this test tbh.

But honestly i was really surprised cause a lot of questions this time had straight away been picked from PR and Barrons tests. Like the cell diagram one asking to label growing peptide chain and etc.
Overall i would say it went well. But that apoptosis one threw me off. I knew it was either cleft lip of webbed toes but couldn’t decide :((

@kjhnbgfvdcrftgyh hopefully it’ll be a pretty big curve. It seems like it was pretty hard for most students across the board

@Anh7609 I think I left that one blank lol…wait did you take E or M?

I took M but that one was in general i think. Not sure.

for the people who took M, what did u guys get for the albino question

@mdorbust yeah! I’m just hoping the curve to be reasonable! ^:)^

@Anh7609 hahaha I was looking for an answer choice with the word “cancer” in it but then was desperate because there’s no such a choice. I left it blank too

@rondo23 I think it was the last point, where the graph becomes a straight line, since there is no change in the population, #of death=# of birth

Oh yeah that question about why modern scientists are concerned about global warming was like what. There were two options I narrowed it down to that were practically the same thing. I think I ended up choosing the one about genetic variability in the tundra over the one about migratory birds dying off (I figured they would just adapt and go somewhere else for food). And as for the curve, isn’t it always the same for bio or close to the same? I’m pretty sure its decently harsh, like you can only miss 1 and still get an 800. What did you guys do for the one about the fat pocket in migratory birds? I had it between the fat pocket was water soluble and that fat can be more quickly energized for the bird than other macromolecules to provide energy for it during the flight, which is the one I think I ended up choosing.

@Runners I remember that question too… so annoying… I’m trying to remember what I chose and I can’t D:

chose the fat=more energy for bird fat q tho
