I really need help because I only have 2 SAT IIs, but took the BIO in DEC. I'm not too confident about the DEC one though because I haven't learned the second semester of AP BIO. With break to study I think I will probably ace the BIO SAT II in Jan. However Harvard won't receive the scores until late FEB!!! I know Harvard wants all scores by DEC. 1 as priority deadline, so if i don't have my 3rd SAT until FEB, will it hurt my chances? What should I do????

They do accept January SAT and they say they prefer that at least one of your test (either SAT I or SAT II) arrives there by December 1st (November test OK).

It’s not a big deal I think, specially since they also accept February ACT, but it’s always better to send everything before the application deadline though. It shows you planned it well and you really care about making the deadlines.

Thanks Bassplayer! I just pray that the BIO score is good enough so I don’t have to retake it!! What would be a good enough score? at least 650 or at least 750, is there a threshold? I have 770 Math2c, 730 Lit, and …590 USH which is why I had to take Bio.

Hey, I’m in a similar situation. I’ve taken the SAT I, retook it in December. I also took the subject tests but got 800, 800, 580 :S

Consequently I’m retaking the 580 in January along with a few others just in case I do well in them!

It also depends on how late you send in your application. The adcoms probably wont get to the December applications for several months, since they are read in the order they are received.

If you sent in your application recently (or have yet to send it in) you’ll have ample time to get all test results sent before it is evaluated.

^ I haven’t sent in my Harvard app, yet because I am still waiting from EA first choice school, but will the adcoms really not read my app until February if I turn it in say before Christmas? Will this detrimentally hurt me since I didn’t turn the app in early?

Just relax. If you need to take the SAT II in January, it will work out fine. If you got a good score already, and do not need to take it in January, it will also work out fine.
