How many formulas are you going to memorize? Are you going to memorize every formula, i.e. that Sparknotes provided, or is that way over the top?

Physics SAT II vets, ppl who got 750+? What do you guys think?

How many formulas are you going to memorize? Are you going to memorize every formula, i.e. that Sparknotes provided, or is that way over the top?

Physics SAT II vets, ppl who got 750+? What do you guys think?

I memorized every single formula in PR, which ended up coming out to more than 100. We’ll see how well it serves me tomorrow.

^it won’t do crap for you =[
i did that last time on the sat physics test
i used like 10 total formulas during the test lol and most of them didn’t even involve coming up with numbers

people say it’s heavily concept based for a reason!!

there was a question on the may test about heat, and it had a heating curve for water in a beaker, and it looked like an upside down parabola, and it had temperature marks on it
and it asked what the room temperate was when the water was getting hot
i still don’t get that question

and then there was this other question about heat transfer and i think two objects connected by a rod, and what would increase the rate of heat transfer or something

then another question had you choose which of these scientists did not contribute to the study of light

the stupidest ones had diagrams of electric fields due to different stuffs, like solenoids, a plate and an electron, and you had to match them up

Dude, 112358, you are beast. How long did that take you?

pigsatsea, thank you so much for your feedback! What was your score?

What I’m really worried about is time… :(

^yeah, i was worried about time too but surprisingly i finished all the questions
basically, if u know it, then you know it
if u don’t, u don’t…since there aren’t many calculations anyway

oh and i got 710 and i’m retaking

Retaking? Like in fall of next year? Are you a junior?

^lol what do u mean?
no i’m retaking it tomorrow
i got 710 on the may testing date
i’m a junior

I know the formulas alone won’t be much help, but I find that knowing formulas helps clarify the concepts in my mind.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow!

Ahhh… See, I thought you were going to study all summer long again…

Please excuse my silly mistake…a little brain dead here…

Best of luck to you too!

BTW pigs, what did you change about your studying this time around?

ah dam ima fail this

i ditched princeton review, stopped cramming formulas
read kaplan and sparknotes
and did alot of practice questions, also took the official test from cb

How did you do on the CB test? Was it similar in difficulty to the May test? Because I got an 800 on the CB test with a few points to spare, but I’m still not feeling very confident about this test.

i dont understand magnetism and magnetic field direction and crap
anyone care to explain?

pigsatsea, you have been so helpful. I thank you!

I read the PR book meticulously, but unfortunately could not find the CB book. Will I be okay?

lol good job on the 800
well i actually thought the actual test was still more concept based than the sparknotes test!! =/

I’m running on a year of introductory physics and a day of SparkNotes cramming…wish me luck! :D
