So Ive spent the last hour or so Googling and searching this site for the best methods on how to prep for the Physics subject test but Ive gotten very little in the way of useful information.

So how have you guys prepped? So far Ive read the entire Kaplan book on it and completed 2/3 of the practice tests. I completed a course in mechanics at a junior college over the summer, but thats only really prepared me for maybe a fourth of the information I'll need for the test. I still feel like I'm unprepared with regards to the rest of the material. Are there any books/sites/threads you guys could refer me to? Or perhaps better yet, could any of you guys who've scored a 700+ on the test tell me how you prepped?

I used the Barons and considering the syllabus I also went through Resnik and Halliday. I got just 700 though.

I aced AP Physics B.

Congrats.

Did you also take the SAT Physics Subject test?
Does it need any additional preparation other than AP Physics B? Assuming someone wants to score more than 770.

Was there any time stress during AP physics B MC session?
How about SAT physics subject test - seems like a speed test with NOT even 1 minute available per question… Was there a lot of time pressure?

thanks

I took both the AP exam and the subject test. If you hadn’t take AP Physics B before, you should read over Barron’s and Princeton Review for preparation.
And, no, time should be the least of your concerns as the test was quite conceptual and any calculations were minimal. If you know it, you know it, and if you don’t, extra time wouldn’t help much.
Best of luck.

I used sparknotes over the summer and received a 780.

Edit: The free online sparknotes SAT II physics book

I agree completely. The Subject Test and the B MC are almost like history exams.
