SAT II Physics with only AP Physics 1 Knowledge + What is a good score for an engineering major?

Hi!! I am planning on taking the physics sat in 2 weeks. However, I never learned magnetism and optics and I am wondering how much that will affect my score. My target score is anything that will not hurt my application as I am applying as an engineering major. I think I can score above a 700, but I am not really sure. This will be my last test date because I am a senior and I will be applying to colleges very soon so this score will be my final score. Thank you so much!

Not in the realm of reality unless you are planning tol earn the 50-60% of the topics not covered in AP Physics 1 on your own

Pretty much everything on the test except magnetism and optics was covered in my AP Physics 1 class. I’m just wondering if I really need to study those two topics to get a decent score.

Right which is what @skieurope is saying–it’s not possible to do so given that E&M/Optics make up a sizable chunk fo the exam.

And modern physics. So if you get every question right on the topics covered inAP Physics 1, given the generous curve, you’re looking at about a 640.

My son only had Physics 1 and got a 740. No Physics 2 experience at all. So it is possible to get above 700.

thank you so much NJFL123 !!
